In The Detail
When viewed from below, it is easy to see why our Zanbaq ceiling pendant earned its name, which is taken from the Arabic for ‘jasmine’, the beautiful shrub long cultivated for the rich fragrance of its flowers. Eight petals of antique brass radiate out from its centre, each one hand-carved and hand-engraved with a rich floral motif. Viewed from the side, the depth of the pendant’s side panels gives the lamp a pleasingly substantial presence. And when illuminated, it generates a dramatic contrast of light above and patterned shadow below.
