In evidence of more recent influences on North African and Middle Eastern culture, we also operate a specialist maillechort atelier in Marrakech. Also known as nickel silver, maillechort was introduced to the country by the French in the nineteenth century. A lustrous silver-white blend of copper, nickel and zinc, it can be carved, etched, engraved or embossed to stunningly intricate effect, allowing our artisans to create tables, cabinets, mirrors and chairs of rare elegance.
